Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial for Gaetano Anthony "Guy" Aloisio, who passed away at the age of 90 in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the Franklin Health Care Center. Following the Mass, he will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Angelo Cremaldi will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Gaetano "Guy Jr." Aloisio Jr., Gaetano "Chip" Aloisio III, Tre Aloisio, Brant Delaune, Jason Zeringue, and Daniel Champagne. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Aloisio, Michael Aloisio, Leonard Aloisio, Rosario "Al" Aloisio, and Giloramo "Jim" Aloisio. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until Mass time.
Guy was a native of Patterson who in his early years lived in Aransas Pass, TX where he was in the shrimping business and met his wife Wanda Lee. In the early 60's he and his wife moved to Patterson where they have resided ever since. He owned and operated Guy's Service Station until his retirement. He was an active member of the Patterson Moose Lodge where he was a past officer and was also a member of the Morgan City Christopher Columbo Organization. His favorite pastimes included growing vegetable and flower gardens, making homemade wine, and visiting with friends over coffee every morning under his carport. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Wanda Lee Catchings Aloisio; four sons, Stephen Ross Aloisio, Gaetano Anthony "Guy Jr." Aloisio Jr. and his wife Kathy, Michael Rosario Aloisio and his wife Paulla, and Leonard Joseph Aloisio and his companion Sheila Miller; two brothers, Rosario "Al" Aloisio and his wife Frances, and Giloramo "Jim" Aloisio and his wife Verdie; two sisters, Catherine Piro and Rosemary Cutrera; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosario "Sam" Aloisio and Maria Rizutto Aloisio; one brother, Leonard "Bull" Aloisio; five sisters, Anna A. Rizutto, Angelina A. Gianfala, Virginia A. Tringali, Matilda "Tee" Aloisio, and Josephine A. Stansbury; two grandsons, Jacob Aloisio and Ben Aloisio; one sister-in-law, Rosa N. Aloisio; and six brothers-in-law, Sam Piro, Lucien Cutrera, Anthony Rizutto, Leonard Gianfala, John Tringali, and Ogden Stansbury.
